What “last reported” really means
A location becomes useful when you can see when it was observed.
A position belongs to a moment
A point on a map can feel current even when it is old. “Last reported” means the latest location observation received for the vehicle, together with the time attached to that observation.
It does not guarantee that the vehicle is still at that point.
Different fields can have different times
Location, battery level and mileage do not necessarily arrive together. Seeing a recent battery value should not imply that an older location has just been refreshed.

No update is not a driving state
A vehicle may be asleep, offline, outside its collection schedule or paused. No recent update is not proof that it is parked or moving.
If you expected an update, check setup, permissions and collection controls.
Gaps should remain visible
Recorded trips may include periods with missing locations. Filling those gaps with a smooth-looking route would make the picture appear more complete than the observations support.
